What to do with the hands
You may feel fidgety or have restless hands. If the physical act of putting gum or hard candy in your mouth isn’t enough activity for your hands, you may want to get a stress ball that you can squeeze for several minutes. Something in the hand like a coin, pen, or ball that you can manipulate may help.
You may want to try Hindu and Buddhist hand gestures called Mudras. One of my favorite techniques, put your hands up with palms facing away from you. Take the tip of the thumb and place it on the tip of the index finger and rotate the thumb around the tip of the index finger in a circle. Combining this technique with the 4-7-8 breathing exercise will bring a pleasant feeling of relaxation and stress relief.
